Guests may visit ChipIn without the need for an account. However for you to sponsor a cause, or gift to others you must have an account.
ChipIn charges no fees to use the service. You may create an account, post pictures, create a fundraiser, and gift to others without having to pay ChipIn a fee. Do note that payment processors selected by the sponsor of a fundraiser may charge a nominal transaction fee when you send a gift. ChipIn does not benefit in anyway from that fee.
No. ChipIn does not do any of the payment processing. ChipIn transfers you to the fundraiser site and its payment processor is used to complete the gift or donation.
Yes, ChipIn is intended to support peer-to-peer giving, microfunding, and crowdfunding. You log in, upload a picture, click that it is for a fundraiser, provide a title, a description of the need, and provide the URL (web address) to the payment/donation page of the cause. Or for personal gifts you may use the URL where you accept payments (for example your PayPal.ME link that looks something like: https://paypal.me/xxxxxx)

Yes, ChipIn uses Artificial Intelligence in a couple of different ways currently. First, ChipIn provides an 'Ask Me Anything' text field enabling users to ask relevant questions, or as a tool to help you compose compelling stories for your causes and photos, and to locate items of interest. ChipIn using ChatGPT-3 currently so please keep in mind its large language model was current to about 2020. We will continue to research and upgrade our use of ChatGPT over the coming months.
The second way we use Artificial Intelligence is for content moderation. We use Amazon Rekognition to review all uploaded photographs to help identify unsafe or inappropriate content for this service. While its not perfect, it is very good attempt to filter out digital trash that others may find offensive, inappropriate, or harmful. However, if you find questionable content on the service, that we failed to detect, please do contact us and report the photo owner, and photo title to use so we may investigate
